Trip to the Artillery Fortress of Bouda

The Artillery Fortress of Bouda is one of five constructively finished Czechoslovak fortresses and, as the only one, is today in its original form accessible to the public. It is the best-maintained building in its category in the whole Czech Republic. Since 1995, the Bouda fortress has been registered on the list of cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. It consists of five buildings, built in the highest degree of resistance, which are deep underground (up to 57 m) interconnected by the system of corridors and halls. The Artillery Fortress of Bouda was built on the hill of the same name, in the forest massif above the villages Těchonín, Lichkov and Dolní Boříkovice, about 5 km southwest of the town Králíky and 6 km northeast of Jablonné nad Orlicí.
Guided tours of different ranges are taking place in the tourist season at the fortress. From a mini tour through a complete circuit to a variety of above-standard guided tours. Guided tours are usually held from the beginning of May to the end of October. The public can access all the buildings of the fortress from the outside, the interiors then of four objects.
