Trip to Hedeč monastery

Mountain of Holy Mother (in German Marienberg or Muttergottesberg, the original name was Lysá hora) is the mountain in Hanušovice highlands about 1.5 km east of the town Králíky in the cadastral area of Dolní Hedeč. There is a monastery and the main pilgrimage site of the Hradec Králové diocese. With its height of 760 m above sea level, the mountain forms a natural dominant feature of the local landscape.
A part of the pilgrimage area is also a monastery where redemptori lived - they replaced the servite order, now the monastery of the Bishopric of Hradec Králové runs the monastery. At the time of totalitarianism there was an internment camp for the monks in the monastery. The building of the present-day pilgrimage house also served as an internment place. The religious men worked here in agriculture. Some time after the liquidation of the internment camp, religious nuns lived there.
There is a memorial to the victims of internment in the monastery.
